Their Formation Work Is Genuinely Fast

The company name is not marketing bluster. Swyft Filings turns formation paperwork around quickly, keeps you informed about where an order stands without making you chase it, and puts people on the phone. A lot of Texas LLCs came into existence because Swyft made the process feel manageable to somebody who had never done it. That is a real contribution and this page is not disputing it.

The subject here is one recurring line on the invoice and the word printed next to it.

Read the Billing Period Before You Compare Anything

Their registered agent listing shows $149. The period attached to that $149 is a quarter.

Four quarters land in a year, so the annualized figure is roughly $596. Our July 2026 review located no introductory discount anywhere beneath it, which means $596 is the ongoing cost rather than a first-year sticker that improves later.

None of it is concealed. It is only easy to misread, since nearly every competing rate a shopper meets that same afternoon arrives in yearly form. Set $149 beside $125 and $99 in your head and it looks like the middle of the pack. Annualize it and it becomes the largest number in the category by a comfortable distance.

Now Price It Against What Texas Actually Charges

The first row is worth pausing on, and not only for the amount. Texas prices its formation filing at $300 and then publishes exactly what a credit card does to that total: a statutorily authorized convenience fee of 2.7 percent, which turns $300 into $308.10 to the dime. The state is willing to print its own surcharge down to the last cent before you have committed to anything.

Set $596 against $300 and a year of quarterly agent invoices very nearly funds the creation of two additional Texas companies. Set it against $99 and the yearly difference is $497, spent entirely on whose name occupies one field of one record.

What the Ninety-Nine Buys

A Texas street address of ours carried on your public filings rather than yours. Anything served at that address scanned into your portal the same business day, with an email alert riding behind it. A prompt in the weeks before May 15, since that is when both Comptroller filings fall due. A complete filing history sitting in the portal, retrievable at will. One invoice a year, arriving once, reading the same amount it read last time.

Nothing here claims a record. BetterLegal posts $90, nine dollars less than we ask, so our position is narrower than a superlative: $99 sits in the lower band of Texas pricing and it does not move.

Getting Swyft Filings Off Your Texas Entity Record

The exit is Form 401, filed with the Secretary of State, $15 for an LLC, submitted online through SOSDirect or mailed on paper. It carries your entity name, the state's file number for the company, plus the incoming agent and the Texas registered office address that goes with it. Swyft has no signature line on it and no ability to hold it up.

Two things about timing. First, appoint and secure consent from the incoming agent before the form goes in, because Texas expects that field to name a working agent for every day your entity is on the register, and a change still in processing has not taken effect yet. Cancel the old service after the record shows the new name, never before.

Second, there is no reason to wait for a quarter boundary. The Secretary of State processes the change whenever it arrives and has no interest in your billing cycle.
